Happy to report that we have two new farmers markets in our neck of the woods, all within 15 minutes of home. Best of all, the produce and variety of goods on offer is great.
Kuraby Farmers Markets: Located at the Kuraby Train Station on Saturdays from 6am to midday. Parking is free.
Eat Bake Grow, Mt Cotton Farmers Market: Located at 1246 Mount Cotton Road at the Community Hall from 7am to midday. Parking is free.
Al and I attended the opening day of this market. In future, it will be every second Sunday (starting 12 January 2014). So far, it has a small but very high quality range of produce. I’m sure as it becomes more popular, the range of stalls will grow. It was fantastic to see the Goat Pie Man, Caboolture raspberries, Mavis and her organic vegetables and a fantastic butcher who had free range lamb rumps, racks, fillets and backstrap, all for $25 a kilo.
